Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of using ChatGPT-based Artificial Intelligence on the critical thinking skills of students in the Economics Education Study Program, Class of 2021, at Sriwijaya University. This research is a descriptive quantitative study. The population of this study consists of 63 students from the Economic Education Study Program, class of 2021, who have used ChatGPT. The sampling technique used is saturated sampling, in which all members of the population are taken as the sample, resulting in a total of 63 student participants. Data collection techniques include questionnaires and interviews. The validity of the instrument was tested using the product moment correlation formula, and the reliability was tested using Cronbach's Alpha formula. The results showed that the use of ChatGPT-based Artificial Intelligence was categorized as high, with an average percentage score of 79%, and the students’ critical thinking skills were also categorized as high, with an average percentage score of 81%. The data analysis using simple regression revealed that = 3.613 > 1,670, indicating that the (Ho) rejected and the (Ha) was accepted. It can be concluded that there is an influence of using ChatGPT-based Artificial Intelligence on the critical thinking skills of Economics Education students, Class of 2021, at Sriwijaya University.
