Abstract

The cultivion of star pomfret (Trachinotus blochii) is a promising business opportunity due to its high economic value and rapid growth rate. One way to increase aquaculture productivity is by adding probiotics to the feed. This study aimed to determine the effect of different doses of EM4 probiotics in feed on the survival and growth of star pomfret (Trachinotus blochii) fry. The experiment was conducted for28 days using a Completely Randomised Design (CRD) consisting of five treatments and three replications: control (no probiotic) and the addition of EM4 at doses of 50 mL, 55 mL, 60 mL, 65 mL per kilogram of feed. The fish used were 3-5 grams in weight and 4-6 cm in length, woth 10 fish stocked per unit. The results showed that the best performance was achievedd with the addition of 50 mL/kg of EM4, resulting in an average final weight of 15,06 grams, lenght of 3,52 cm, specific growth rate (SGR) od 3,0%, feed conversion rato (FCR) of 1,29 and survival rate (SR) of 96,6%. These findings indicate that the the 50 mL/kg pakan dose of EM4 probiotic can effectively enhance the growth and survival of Trachinotus blochii fry.
