Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan metode Problem Solving dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar kimia siswa kelas XI IPA 2 SMA N 1 Indralaya Selatan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam 3 siklus, setiap siklus terdapat dua kali pertemuan yang terdiri dari perencanaan, tindakan, refleksi dan observasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, rata rata hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I (T1) didapatkan sebesar 61,47 dengan ketuntasan belajar sebesar 41,67% dan keaktifan siswa sebesar 57,83%. Pada siklus II rata rata hasil belajar siswa pada siklus II (T2) didapatkan sebesar 75,34 dengan ketuntasan belajar sebesar 68,57% dan keaktifan siswa sebesar 73,28%. Pada siklus III rata rata hasil belajar siswa pada siklus III (T3) didapatkan sebesar 87,61 dengan ketuntasan belajar sebesar 85,29% dan keaktifan siswa sebesar 86,02%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan menerapkan metode pembelajaran Problem solving dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kimia siswa sehingga disarankan bagi guru sebagai metode alternatif pilihan dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar kimia siswa.
