Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya hubungan yang positif antara penguasaan kosakata dan struktur teks dengan kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 16 Palembang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah korelasi. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII 1 dan VII 3 SMP Negeri 16 Palembang yang berjumlah 60 orang. Data diperoleh dari hasil tes penguasaan kosakata, penguasaan struktur teks, dan kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi. Hasil analisis terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara penguasaan kosakata dengan kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi sebesar 0,682, terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara penguasaan struktur teks dengan kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi sebesar 0,860, dan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara penguasaan kosakata dan struktur teks dengan kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 16 Palembang sebesar 0,887.
