Abstract

This study aimed to find out and analyze the effect of foreign debt, exchange rate, inflation, and export on the fluctuations in foreign exchange reserves in Indonesia. The data used were secondary data obtained from Bank Indonesia and Central Bureau of Statistics from January 2016 to Desember 2018. The method used in this study was Error Correction Model. The result of the study showed that foreign debt, exchange rate, inflation, and export together had a significant effect on the fluctuations in foreign exchange rate, and export influenced significantly on the fluctuations in foreign exchange reserves. Foreign debt and export had a positive effect but exchange rate had a negative effect on the fluctuations in foreign exchange reserves.
