Abstract

Processing of waste bottles using pyrolysis method is one way to reduce the volume of infusion bottle waste, and the results from the pyrolysis of infusion bottle waste can be used as an alternative fuel in the generator set engine. In this study the plastic to be used is LDPE plastic. Pyrolysis oil of infusion bottle waste was tested for physical and chemical properties in terms of RON values, density, and calorific value before being used as fuel in the PT-3700V type generator set. RON value testing method uses ASTM D 2699. RON value at pertalite 90 and at pertamax turbo 98, while the RON value on pyrolysis gasoline used in this study is 52. The method of testing density using ASTM D 941. Value of density of pertalite and pertamax above 715 kg / m3, while the density of pyrolysis gasoline used in this study was 751.6 kg / m3. The test method of calorific value uses ASTM D 240. The calorific value of gasoline is ± 10,500 cal/g, while the calorific value of gasoline pyrolysis used in this study is 4159,601 cal/g. In the process of testing pyrolysis oil in gasoline generator pyrolysis is used as a mixture and the main fuel is pertalite and pertamax turbo. Percentage of mixture in this study there are two mixtures of fuels namely pertalite and pertamax turbo 100%, pertalite and pertamax turbo 95% : pyrolysis gasoline 5%, pertalite and pertamax turbo 90% : pyrolysis gasoline 10%, pertalite and pertamax turbo 80% : gasoline 20% pyrolysis. In power efficiency testing the PT-3700V type generator set uses gasoline pyrolysis captured data is voltage, current, power, and frequency.
