Abstract

Information technology has an important role to support the implementation of public information to all aspects of life. Sriwijaya University (UNSRI) as an educational institution also utilizes IT to realize a professional, effective, efficient and accountable management system. To measure the level of IT governance and management capabilities that exist in the UNSRI environment, the authors use the COBIT (Control Objective for Information and related Technology) framework 5. This study uses two domains, Deliver, Service, and Support (DSS) and Build, Acquire, and Implement (BAI). The study began by conducting a field study related to IT governance and management at UPT-TIK UNSRI, then continued with an assessment and analysis of the current capability level based on the results of an objective assessment, which obtained an average of level 1 and level 2. The results of the study, produce recommendations for IT governance and management solutions that are expected to be applied at UPT-TIK Sriwijaya University.
