Abstract

Technological developments such as smart car which can run to various destinations on its own without human driver assistance until smart home devices are the parts of IoT (Internet of Things). In exchanging information on IoT system, data exchange can be as efficient as possible by reducing the number of data packets sent so that traffic can increase. This has been provided by the MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport) protocol. In this study, a fire detection system device and service quality analysis or QoS (Quality of Service) on IoT (Internet of Things) were designed that used MQTT protocol. The planned analysis of the design and testing results will be carried out by testing the transmission of messages from the client publisher to the client subscriber. The transmission is done through server broker and by using wireless transmission media to obtain data on delay, throughput, jitter, and packet loss by using different QoS levels namely 0, 1, and 2. The results of the best QoS level or QoS level 2 testing on the IoT network with the MQTT protocol are as follows: the lowest delay is 5.449 ms, the highest throughput is 0.968 mb/s, the lowest jitter is 0.0006 ms and the lowest packet loss is 26%.
