Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian tepung kiambang (Salvinia molesta) dan tepung limbah sayur kubis (Brassica oleraceae var. capitata) disebut juga “kiamferbis” dalam ransum terhadap peningkatan berat badan ayam broiler. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap terdiri dari enam perlakuan dan empat ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri atas P0 (kontrol), P1 (10% tepung kiamferbis + 90% pakan standar broiler), P2 (20% tepung kiamferbis + 80% pakan standar broiler), P3 (30% tepung kiamferbis + 70% pakan standar broiler), P4 (40% tepung kiamferbis + 60% pakan standar broiler), dan P5 (50% tepung kiamferbis + 50% pakan standar broiler). Data dianalisis dengan ANAVA dan uji lanjut BNJ. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kombinasi tepung kiamferbis dan pakan standar broiler berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan berat badan ayam broiler. Perbedaan konsentrasi kombinasi tepung kiamferbis dan pakan standar broiler berpengaruh nyata pada parameter berat badan ayam broiler. P3 adalah perlakuan yang dianjurkan untuk meningkatkan berat badan ayam broiler, karena memberikan hasil yang berbeda nyata dengan perlakuan lainnya. Informasi hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi alternatif contoh kontekstual pada pembelajaran Biologi Kelas XII Semester 2 yang berfokus pada Kompetensi Dasar 3.10 Memahami prinsip bioteknologi yang menerapkan bioproses dalam menghasilkan kesejahteraan manusia dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan.
