Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of classical guidance with short film media on student motivation in SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya. This research is using experimental method. The population in this study were all students of class VIII, totaling 206 students and the sample used was students of class VIII-7, amounting to 29 students. Researchers used purposive sampling techniques in taking this sample, with criteria based on the BK teacher's recommendations. Data collection techniques in this study used a learning motivation questionnaire with indicators of interest in learning, optimism, and tenacity. Data analysis techniques in this study used the Wilcoxon test, so that the results obtained by Zhitung = -3.690 and Ztable with alpha 5% or 0.05, namely Ztable = -1.645. So that it can be concluded that Zhitung (-3,690)> Ztable (-1,645) then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, namely classical guidance using the media of short films influences the learning motivation of students in SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya.
