Abstract

This IoT-based smart garbage box is a tool that functions to open the lid of the trash box and sort out wet and dry waste automatically. The purpose of this project is to be able to open the lid of the trash and sort out the type of waste itself. Some components used in the making of this project include capacitive proximity modules, ultrasonic modules, arduino uno microcontrollers, nodeMCU esp8266, and servo motor modules. The test is done to open the lid of the trash box with a maximum distance of 5 centimeters, the test to sort out the wet and dry waste by combining the capacitive proximity sensor module and the Ultrasonic module with a distance of 0 centimeters to 10 centimeters and several times a sorting test is done with some garbage. In the percentage of error, the calculation of the overall tool testing is 13.33%.
