Abstract

The focus of this research is to create a tool or system that can monitor plant health and can water plants remotely via the internet without direct contact with the plants themselves because the system built in this study is based on the Internet of Things. The system built in this study has three features, the first feature is that it can detect the ambient temperature at the planting site, the second is to be able to determine the level of turbidity of water in the water reservoir, and the last to control the life or death of plant watering pumps, all features can be accessed via the telegram application on a smartphone. This system is equipped with two sensors, DHT11 for measuring temperature and a Turbidity sensor for measuring the turbidity level of water. After testing the Turbidity sensor, on the first day the sensor detected a water turbidity level of 0.66 NTU, on the second day the sensor detected a water turbidity level of 0.66 NTU and on the third day the sensor detected a water turbidity level of 0.69 NTU. The DHT11 sensor test was carried out four times which resulted in 30.3oC for the morning, 32.4oC for the noon, 32.4oC for the afternoon, and 31.6oC for the afternoon. Plant sprinklers can be accessed via the telegram application on a smartphone with the command “PompaON” to turn on the watering pump and “PompaOFF” to turn off the watering pump.
