Abstract
This study aims to determine the state of the effectiveness of the Palembang City tourism service organization in making the Musi River a leading tourism that has competitiveness and quality by using theoretical concepts Richard M Steers. Based on this theory to explain the effectiveness of an organization consisting of achieving the goals of adaptation and integration. The method used in this research is to used a qualitative descriptive method based on data analysis from the results of this study in making the Musi River a leading tourist attraction that has competitiveness and quality, all of which are carried out by the agency, but the existing potential is not maximal from the facilities and infrastructure. Has not been maintained, so that the potential for achieving organizational goals can be optimized again. In carrying out organizational activities to achieve effective targets, in addition to paying attention to the elements of activities, they must also pay attention to related facilities and infrastructure in a pro active manner. The results of this study recommend that it is necessary to improve the development of tourism facilities infrastructure to be repaired so that it is comfortable for tourists and tourists who want to return to their tourist destinations.
