Abstract

This study aims was to evaluate dry matter degradation of four swamp grasses in swamp buffalo by In Sacco method. This research was conducted from February to July 2020 at the Animal Husbandry Study Program Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University University. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments ( Kumpai Tembaga (Hymenachne Acutigluma), Kumpai Minyak (Hymenachne amplexicaulis), Sendayan (Rhynchospora corymbosa), Bento rayap (Leersia hexandra)) and 3 replications. Analysis of variance and Duncan test were performed with SPSS 16. 0 to evaluate the difference of observed variables. The parameters observed were dry matter degradability of fractions a (easily degradade), b (potential to be degraded), c (rate of degradation of the fraction b). The results of the study showed the different degradation paterns. The highest degradability of a and b fractions were found in Kumpai Minyak (30.81% and 31.29%, respectively). It could be concluded that Kumpai Minyak had highest in sacco dry matter degradation.
