Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang pengaruh financial leverage terhadap profitabilitas pada PT. Bumi Resources Tbk selama periode 2002-2006. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini : (1). Untuk mengetahui perkembangan financial leverage pada PT. Bumi Resources Tbk dari tahun 2002 sampai dengan tahun 2006, (2) Untuk mengetahui perkembangan profitabilitas pada PT. Bumi Resources Tbk dari tahun 2002 sampai dengan 2006, (3) Untuk mengetahui pengaruh financial leverage terhadap profitabilitas pada PT. Bumi Resources Tbk dari tahun 2002 sampai dengan 2006 Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan menggunakan analisis rasio keuangan dan analisis regresi. Metode analisis regresi digunakan untuk meregresi variabel bebas terhadap variabel tak bebas. Dimana variabel bebas ditunjukkan dengan rasio debt to equity sedangkan variabel tak bebas dalam rasio retum on investment, retum on equity dan retum on assets. Dengan analisis rasio keuangan diketahui selama 2002 sampai 2006, penggunaan leverage keuangan tertinggi perusahaan mencapai 1.339% dan terendah berada pada nilai 387%. Tingkat profitabilitas ROI rata-rata PT. Bumi Resources Tbk adalah sebesar 5,70%, ROE sebesar 47,33% dan ROA sebesar 7,65%.Dari analisis regresi, hasil menunjukkan bahwa debt to equity tidak mempunyai pengaruh terhadap masing-masing ketiga rasio profitabilitas karena tingkat signifikasi yang diatas 0,05 yakni 0,579 (ROI), 0,848 (ROE), serta 0,739 (ROA).
