Abstract

This research was an attempt to flnd out the influence of price and quantity on incomes of lempok duriang (durian paste) industry in Empat Lawang County. The primary data were collected by research and interview to a sample of 21 respondents. The secondary data included those collected from publications by Regional Statistics Office and Industry and Trade Office of Palembang City. This research used a descriptive, qualitative and quantitative method. The research results show that durian paste prices influenced significantly on the sales of the industry in Empat Lawang County as shown by the R value of 0.988 and the R2 value of 0.976. In other words, they constitute 98.8% and 97.6% respectively. These percentages indicated siginificant relationship among prices, quantities, sales and the industiy in the county. The t test obtained resulted in the following indicators a (13.630), pi (19.558), P2 (17.486) > t table of 2.101. The F obtained of 367.527 was larger than F table of 3.55. It means Ho was Tejected and Ha accepted. In other words, the price and quantity infleuenced the sales of the pastes in the county. The income elasticity values of 0.17 and 0.05 was < 1. This showed the inelasticity. Therefore, the price and quantity tend to get higher yet the incomes ofthe sellers remain the same.
