Abstract

Electrical properties of Dye Sensitized Solar Cell with Varied Concentrations of Powdered-Dye of Malabar Gooseberry (Melastoma malabathricum) have been completed. pigment anthocyanin (dye) of malabar gooseberry can be used as a sensitizer alternative in layer DSSC. Extraction of dye anthocyanin in this study conducted by the method of extraction of ultrasonic assisted extraction (UAE) on the best time is 45 minutes with a temperature of 35ᵒC, and the manufacture of dye powder using foam mat drying method at the temperature of 60ᵒC for 10 hours. This study uses different concentration variation, namely 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10%. This study aims to determine the best concentration of electrical properties of dye sensitized solar cell (DSSC) using powdered-dye extract of malabar gooseberry (Melastoma malabathricum) which was dried by method foam-mat drying. This research was conducted from April 2021 to June 2021, at the Energy and Electrification Laboratory, Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. The TCO glass used for the two DSSC electrodes in this study has a resistance of 1.2 kΩ to 14.6 k. The parameter in this study were total anthocyanin content, powdered-dye concentration as a sensitizer, voltage and current values, output and input power values, water content of material, and DSSC efficiency. The highest total anthocyanin content was obtained at 10% dye powder concentration with a value of 0.60 mg/L. The results of the experiment showed that the dye extract of the powdered senduduk fruit with a concentration of 4% produced the best electrical values, namely Isc: 0.0074 mA, Voc: 808 mV, Imax: 0.0050 mA, Vmax: 584 mV, Pmax: 2,9200 mW, FF: 0,4884, and efficiency is 1,9188%.
