Abstract

The government established the Visit 2020 Wonderful Bengkulu program to increase the development of the tourism and cultural sector. One of the cultures is Batik Besurek. However, at this time there is little public interest in batik due to the unavailability of educational facilities that can attract public interest. The lack of reliable human resources has an impact on the small number of batik production houses in Bengkulu City. Galleries and Production Houses are designed to answer these problems, as a forum for the development of the cultural tourism sector with other supporting facilities that can increase public knowledge of besurek batik. To support visitor comfort, linear circulation (one-way) is applied to the area and building so that it creates a clear visitor flow and activities to be more efficient and can maximize the capacity of the room and area. The interior of the gallery is designed with a simple design and a cinematic appearance gives the impression of not being monotonous. In order to preserve and highlight the local cultural elements of Bengkulu, the application of the architecture of Rumah Bubungan Lima in buildings such as the shape of the roof and stilt buildings as well as the facade design with metal sheet material with batik motifs as the identity of the gallery building and Batik production house.
