Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, students learn from home which has an impact on academic life which affects students' achievement motivation. This study aims to determine the achievement motivation of students in class VIII at SMP Negeri 5 Prabumulih during the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used is descriptive quantitative method. The data was collected using a Junior High School Achievement Motivation questionnaire using ascale Likert. The population of this study were students of class VIII at SMP Negeri 5 Prabumulih as many as 296 students and the number of samples used was 75 students using a sampling technique in the form of Simple Random Sampling. The results of data analysis carried out obtained that in the very low category 4 students (5%), low category 5 students (7%), medium category 58 students (77%), high category 2 students (3%), and very high category 6 students (8%).
