Abstract

This study aims to determine the Skills of Civics Teachers in Developing the Assessment Instruments Oriented to HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skill) at UPT SMA Negeri 1 Ogan Ilir. The informants in this study amounted to 4 (four) who were PPKn teachers at UPT SMA Negeri 1 Ogan Ilir with the determination of informants in this study using a total sampling type of nonprobability sampling technique. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Collecting data in this study using documentation, observation, and interviews. The validity test of the data used includes the credibility test, transferability test, dependability test and confirmability test. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion result, it is known that the skills of teachers in preparing HOTS-oriented assessment instruments are in the good category, it can be seen from the score of 6 indicators with an average value of 77.16%. So the results of this study show that PPKN teachers at UPT SMA Negeri 1 Ogan Ilir have good skills in developing HOTS-oriented assessment instruments.
