Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent to which the achievement of cognitive development of children aged (5-6) years in Sukadana Kayuagung Village. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative with the same population and sample, namely 14 children aged (5-6) years in Sukadana Kayuagung Village, consisting of 7 boys and 7 girls. The data analysis technique was calculated from the percentage of cognitive development achievement in accordance with the results of observation (checklist). The results showed that the achievement of cognitive development of children aged (5-6) years in Sukadana Kayuagung Village got an overall mean value of 85.6% which was included in the very well developed category (BSB). This can be seen from the indicators of learning and problem solving to get a mean value of 78.5% which is categorized as developing according to expectations (BSH). Then the mean value obtained from the logical thinking indicator is 95.8% which is categorized as very well developed (BSB). Furthermore, the symbolic thinking indicator got a mean of 82.7% which was categorized as very well developed (BSB). achievement of cognitive development of children aged (5-6) years in Sukadana Village Kayuagung, for the logical thinking indicator, got the higest score. Next for the symbolic thinking indicator gets a moderate value. For the lowest value there are indicators of learnig and problem solving.
