Abstract

This research aims to identify the effect of age, gender, last education, occupation, marital status and income against the use of debit cards in Sungailiat City. Sampling technique in this research using purposive sampling which has 100 respondents and the analysis model is using multiple liniear regression with OLS approach. The result shows that partially age, gender, last education, occupation, and marital status has no significant effect on the percentage of expenditure by using debit card. While income has a significant effect on the percentage of expenditure by using a debit card. There is no difference in the percentage of spending by using a debit card based on gender, occupation and marital status. Simultaneously age, gender, last education, occupation, marital status and income significantly influence the percentage by using debit card. In the whole variation of independent variables can explain the variable of debit card by 15.5 percent.
