Abstract
The objective of this research was to fmd out the best BAP concentration on the growth of mangosteen seed-explant through in vitro assay. The research was conducted at tissue-culture laboratory Faculty of Agriculture Sriwijaya University, started ffom February to May 2005. The research was arranged in Randomized Block Design which consisted of five BAP treatments with three replications. Eachtreatment consisted of 14 samples. There were 210 bottles of treatments bottle. Eachbottle contained one seed-explant. The treatments were B0 (0 ppm BAP), BI (2,5PPm BAP), B* (5,0 ppm BAP), B3 (7,5 ppm BAP), B4 (10 ppm BAP) + 0,1 ppmNAA.The results indicated that the treatment of 10 ppm BAP (B4), gave the best effect to the growth of mangosteen seed-explant through in vitro followed by treatment of B0.
