Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian kemampuan karbon aktif kayu gelam untuk adsorpsi ion logam krom. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mencari kondisi optimum dan persen efektifitas penyerapan ion logam krom oleh karbon aktif kayu gelam. Parameter yang diteliti antara lain variasi konsentrasi (2,5 ppm, 5 ppm, 7,5 ppm, dan 10 ppm), variasi waktu kontak (15, 30, 60, 90, dan 120 menit), variasi ukuran partikel (60, 80, 100 dan 140 mesh) dan variasi pH (4,7,dan 10). Hasil yang didapat untuk konsentrasi yaitu pada konsentrasi 10 ppm, dengan waktu kontak 90 menit, dan variasi ukuran partikel 100 mesh. Sedangkan pH ion logam yang efektif pada pH 7.
