Abstract
Research performance of chilin and chitin membrane made of slirimp shell waste from PT Lolamina Palembang tbr adsorption ofcopper metal ions has been done. Isolation for that were done consist of demineralization use HC1 3 M and deproteination use NaOH 3.5% Membrane was produced with weight composition of chitin and PVC 0.32 % each, DMA and NMP 48.66 % each, and LiCl 2.02 %. Parameters observed were variation of contact time and concentration. Cu (II) ion concentration in solution was measured by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry method. Characteristic of chitin result isolation obtained water content of 3.73 %, ash content of 0.66 %, and degree asetilation of 39.479%. Measurement results with use AAS showed that optimum adsorption of Cu (II) ion to chitin was achieved in 5.6 hour contact time and 40 mg/L concentration, with adsorption capacity of 2.196 mg/g, and also optimum adsorption of Cu (II) ion to chitin membrane was achieved in 5.6 hour, 40 mg/L concentration with adsorption capacity of and 7.19 mg/g.
