Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the effect of group guidance service on students learning interest levels of class X IPS in SMA Negeri 3 Palembang. The method used was pre-experimental with one group pretest posttest research design. Subjects of this research were 9 people obtained from the result of pretest with low category down. The method used in collecting data was questionnaire. The research was conducted by giving 3 times treatment of group guidance service with group discussion method. The data analysis technique was using wilcoxon test. The result of the research is the comparison of pretest average score 81,33 with medium category and posttest average score 144 with high category. Based on the data analysis, the value of Asymp.sig (2-tailed) is 0,008 where the probability was below 0,05, that is there are significant influence from group guidance service to the class X IPS in SMA Negeri 3 Palembang. In conclusion, learning interest can be improved by using group guidance service.
