Abstract
Cancer is one of the illnesses with the highest mortality rate worldwide. The number of patients and mortality from cancer is expected to increase, especially in under developed countries and developing countries. In Indonesia, the number of cancer patients tends to increase from year to year. Painful and long term of cancer treatments often cause psychology pressure and stress. Therefore, the supporting hospital atmosphere and environment will greatly affect the condition of the patient. “The Healing Architecture” concept in cancer hospitals is expected to create an atmosphere and environment that support the healing of patients not only in medical way, but also in psychological way. Implementation of this concept will go through several stages ; environmental analysis, needs analysis, and analysis of the appropriate atmosphere. The results of the analysis is the form of buildings, environmental plans, spatial plans, interior plans, structure, and supporting utilities. Utilization of natural elements in this hospital is the main goal, which is applied with healing garden and the selection of materials for the interior
