Abstract

ABSTRAK Pendidikan merupakan usaha sebagai penunjang keberhasilan pembangunan bangsa baik dari pendidikan informal dan pendidikan nonformal. Kemiskinan orang tua merupakan salah satu faktor yang mengakibatkan keterlantaran pemenuhan hak anak dalam bidang pendidikan formal sehingga anak mengalami putus sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah Faktor-faktor Penyebab Terjadinya Putus Sekolah pada Siswa SMP Negeri 4 Muara Sugihan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, yang menjadi situasi sosial dalam penelitian ini adalah sekolah SMP Negeri 4 Kecamatan Muara Sugihan Kabupaten Banyuasin sebagai tempat penelitian(tempat),dengan melakukan pengamatan terhadap faktor- faktor penyebab siswa putus sekolah(aktivitas), dan peserta didik SMP Negeri 4 Muara Sugihan yang mengalami putus sekolah, guru bimbingan konseling(pelaku). Teknik pengumpulan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik Purposive Sampling dengan informan berjumlah 4 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik dokumentasi, wawancara, dan observasi. Dari hasil penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa terdapat beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi siswa putus sekolah diantaranya faktor internal yang berasal dari dalam diri siswa yaitu: intelegensi, motivasi, tingkat kesadaran, tidak menyukai sekolah. Adapun faktor eksternal yang berasal dari pengaruh luar siswa diantaranya: faktor ekonomi, lingkungan keluarga, lingkungan sekolah, lingkungan sosial.
