Abstract

The objective of to identify potency and inhibitant of this research wasruminant livestock population development conceming pasture avaibility andlabours and analyzing the priory of ruminant govemment livestock agency in Ogan Komering Ilir South Sumatra. This research was done ffom January 2009 until July 2009. calculation method used effective capacity calculation of mminant population improvement (Livestock Directorate General, 1998). The result showed that the total value for effective capacity of ruminant population (KPPTR) in OKI is positive that 232.916,68 ST. That means, effective capacity of ruminant population (KPPTR) in OKI can be improved until 232.916,68 ST. Main priority the developing of ruminant livestock area consecutively are Lempuing, Lempuing Jaya, Mesuji, Mesuji Makmur. Kayu Agung, SP. Padang, Tanjung Lubuk, Jejawi, Mesuji Raya, Tulung Selapan, Sungai Menang, Air Sugihan, Pedamaran, Pangkalan Lampam, Cengal. Teluk Gelam, Pedamaran Timur and Pampangan. Main inhibition ffom developing of ruminant population is labours resources which low beside this livestock work still put aside
