Abstract

The aim of this study is entitled ”Problems in the election of village heads in the village Megang Sakti V subdistrict Megang Sakti Musi Rawas Regency".The purpose of this study is to determine how the implementation of village head election and to know the problems contained in each stage of the village head election in the village Megang Sakti V. In the election of the village head, there will certainly be competition to get support from the village community with the competition of each party will compete with each other to be the best. The village head candidates will spread their influence to the villagers to obtain support from the villagers so that the villagers will be interested in choosing him to become the village head and the elected village head will rule the village community with various aspects of life for six years. This study was conducted by qualitative methods. The findings were obtained from primary data in the form of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that there are actions that are not in accordance with the existing regulations and regulations in the village head election such as money politics, marches/pageantry activities, conflicts between communities, and there are still many people who are not registered in the data of Permanent Voters.
