Abstract

Informasi merupakan sesuatu hal yang sering kita dapatkan, dimanapun kapanpun, dan siapapun. Dalam penyebaran informasi masih terdapat masalah yang sering terjadi, contohnya adalah kurangnya penyebaran informasi tersebut secara meluas sehingga informasi yang disampaikan tidak tersampaikan dengan baik terutama dalam lingkungan kampus Universitas Sriwijaya Fakultas Ilmu Komputer jurusan Teknik Informatika. Pemanfaatan Chat-SIA dapat membantu mahasiswa terutama mahasiswa program studi S1 Teknik Informatika Fakultas Ilmu Komputer Universitas Sriwijaya dalam mendapatkan informasi mengenai akademik. Pada penelitian ini, Chat-SIA dibangun dengan menggunakan algoritma Rabin-Karp dan memanfaatkan pattern matching. Perhitungan nilai similarity menggunakan dice’s similarity coefficient bertujuan untuk membandingkan teks pertanyaan dari pengguna dengan pattern template. Data yang digunakan pada aplikasi Chat-SIA ini adalah data primer berupa pattern template pertanyaan seputar akademik program studi S1 Teknik Informatika Fakultas Ilmu Komputer Universitas Sriwijaya. Aplikasi Chat-SIA diuji dengan cara meminta responden untuk mengirim pesan teks yang berkaitan dengan pertanyaan akademik dan mengirimkan teks pertanyaan yang pernah ditanyakan mahasiswa ke admin jurusan melalui WhatsApp sebanyak 20 pertanyaan. Para responden juga diminta untuk memberikan penilaian atas jawaban yang diberikan. Dari pengujian yang dilakukan, didapatkan jumlah pertanyaan yang dijawab sesuai oleh Chat-SIA adalah sebanyak 61 dari 70 pertanyaan. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian tersebut, aplikasi Chat-SIA untuk informasi akademik menggunakan algoritma Rabin-Karp memperoleh nilai akurasi sebesar 87,14%.
