Abstract

This study aims to develop a folklore that developed in the Tanah Abang environment, namely the Legend of the Bumiayu Temple. The legend is in the form of an oral story which is converted into a ballet video and will be uploaded to one of the social media, namely Instagram. This research was conducted to help educators to use this video as a medium of learning that aims to provide a fun and different classroom atmosphere. At the same time promoting tourism and helping in efforts to preserve culture, especially in PALI (Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir) Regency. This video covers the art of dance with narration and a bit of drama and dialogue. In this study using the research and development model method of R&D (Research and Development) Thiagajangan 1974. With four steps called 4D, namely Define (definition), Design (design), Development (development), Dissemination (expansion). The research takes needs analysis data through interviews, documents, questionnaires and expert validation. This product has passed the expert validation stage, namely the validation of dance patterns and movements, then video validation includes the suitability of costumes, the suitability of the video with music or video effects and so on which is then expanded/distributed on the Instagram application. Through this research, the researcher hopes that it will be useful for teachers to use this product as a medium for learning Indonesian, especially in folklore subjects, as well as being useful for promoting tourism or tourism objects, as well as efforts to preserve culture.
