Abstract
The problem studied in this study is the student's perception of the teacher's professional education program and its influence on interest in becoming a teacher in students of economic education, FKIP University of Sriwijaya. This study aims to prove student perceptions about the teacher professional education program and its influence on interest in becoming a teacher in students of economic education, FKIP University of Sriwijaya. The method used is descriptive quantitative. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that: 1) Student perceptions of teacher professional education that from 68 samples of student perceptions of teacher professional education obtained as many as 30 students with a percentage of 44% student perceptions in the good category. 2) Interest in becoming a teacher for economic education students at FKIP Sriwijaya University is categorized as quite interested with as many as 36 students (53%). 3) There is an influence of students' perceptions of teacher professional education on their interest in becoming a teacher of economics education at FKIP Sriwijaya University with the contribution of students' perceptions of their interest in becoming a teacher is 48.58% and it means that 51.42% is influenced by other variables.
