Abstract
This study aimed to determine the effect of silica on growth and production of black rice (Oriza sativa L. indica) and to study the possibility of black rice cultivation in pot. This study began from September to November 2017 at shadow house which was coated by black plastic on the bottom in Sriwijaya University research garden. The design used in this study was randomized complete block design (RCBD) factorial with 16 combination of treatments and each treatment consisted of 3 groups, in one group consisted of 3 pots. This study used 4 accessions, they were A1 (UNSRI P1), A2 ( UNSRI P2), A3 (UNSRI P3), and A4 (UNSRI P4). The treatment of this study were B0 (control), B1 (liquid silica fertilizer), B2 (granule silica fertilizer), and B3 (combination of liquid and granule silica fertilizer). The results of this study showed that generally, black rice cultivation could use pots. Based on this study the best fertilizer treatment was the combination of liquid and granule silica fertilizer and the best accession which responded of silica was A1 (UNSRI P1).
