Abstract

This study aims to determine the emotional abilities of children aged (5-6) years in terms of family economic factors. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. The sample in this study were parents who had 15 children aged (5-6) years in the 20 Ilir DI Palembang. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and direct interviews with parents. The data analysis technique uses proportions, the results of the study show that the emotional abilities of children aged (5-6) years in terms of family economic factors can be seen from 2 categories per indicator, namely the negative emotional category 5 children (33%) in the Frequent category. Negative emotions are often here that the child often shows reactions such as (crying, whining, sulking, screaming and hitting), while the number of children in the Sometimes category is 10 children (67%), negative emotions are in the sometimes category which it is mentioned here that the child only shows emotional shows a few times such as (crying, whining, sulking, screaming and hitting). Then the positive emotional category is 9 children (60%) in the category Always. Positive emotional is always meant here that the child always shows a positive response well such as (happy, excited, proud, responsible and patient) and 6 children (40%) in the Often category, what is often meant here is that the child often respond well to positive emotions such as (happy, excited, proud, responsible and patient). The results of this study are expected to be information for parents about the emotional abilities of children aged 5-6 years in terms of family economic factors.
