Abstract
This research is motivated by the difficulties of students of SMAN 1 Sungailiat when proving a formula that uses a reasoning process by giving reasons to each empty table or column. This research is a descriptive study with the aim of knowing students' mathematical reasoning abilities in logarithmic material after holding evidence-based learning using the APOS approach conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Sungailiat. The data collection technique used was a written test which totaled 4 essay questions to measure students' mathematical reasoning abilities. Based on the test results it was found that students were divided into 5 categories, including 1 student participating very well with a proportion of 5.88%, 8 students participating well with a proportion of 47.05%, 2 students participating sufficiently with a proportion of 11.76 % , 4 students participated less with a proportion of 23.52%, and 2 students participated very less with a proportion of 11.76%. For the average test scores of students in class X.3, SMA Negeri 1 Sungailiat are in the sufficient category.
