Abstract
The learning process in the world of physics requires experimentation to get a good understanding of the concepts in it. In this research, the design of an instrument for measuring the speed of sound in air uses an ultrasonic sensor type HC-SRF04 based on NodeMCU ESP8266 to obtain the value of the speed of sound in air medium. The data obtained is sent to a spreadsheet and processed. The tool was tested using different distance variations from a distance of 10 cm to 55 cm with a range of 5 cm. Based on the data, the tools made have an average accuracy of 98.997%, an average precision of 99.05%, and an average error of 0.0571% with a sound speed obtained of 340.028 m⁄s. The tool that has been designed is capable of transmitting data wirelessly using the NodeMCU ESP8266 with a maximum distance of 80 meters for sending data.
