Abstract

This research is entitled Development of Big Busy Book Media for Children Aged (4-5) Years in Pajar Bulan Ogan Ilir Village with the aim of developing media that has been tested for its validity and practicality. Research using the Rowntree development model consists of planning, development, evaluation stages. Tessmer's formative evaluation stage consists of self evaluation, expert review, one-to-one evaluation, small group evaluation. Data collection techniques using walkthrough and observation. Material validation results of 88% consist of content and construct validity. The validity of the media is 88% because it fulfills educational, technical/product design, aesthetic/beauty aspects. Expert review results obtained an average of 88% very valid category. The advantages of media can increase the joy, attractiveness/interest of children in fine motor learning. The lack of media by 12% is in the form of the activity of compiling puzzles that are difficult to do. The one-to-one evaluation phase involving 3 children obtained a percentage of 92%. The small group evaluation stage involving 9 children obtained 94% and the average practicality of the media obtained was 93% in the very practical category. Media advantages are easy to use, interesting/fun and safe for children. Weaknesses obtained by 7% related to limited media during observation. Thus, it can be concluded that the big busy book media for children aged (4-5) years in Pajar Bulan Ogan Ilir Village is stated to be very valid and very practical and suitable for learning.
