Abstract

The pre-experimental study with the One Shot Case Study design entitled The Effect of Pop Up Book Media on the Ability to Recognize Letters in Children Aged (4-5) Years at Islamic Kindergarten Al-Ittifaqiah Indralaya aims to determine the effect of pop up book media on the ability to recognize letters in children aged (4- 5) years. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. The sample numbered 18 children, consisting of 13 girls and 5 boys. The research was conducted in 3 meetings. Data collection techniques namely observation sheets and documentation. Based on the calculation results of the t test, it is obtained tcount 3,26. While ttable (17) is 1,74. Means tcount 3,26 ≥ ttable 1,74, then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So the conclusion is that there is an influence of pop up book media on the ability to recognize letters in children aged (4-5) years at Islamic Kindergarten Al-Ittifaqiah Indralaya. The advantage of research is that children become more interested and active in recognizing letters due to three-dimensional elements. From the 3 meetings at each meeting, the dominant indicators emerged, there were 4 of the 6 indicators, namely showing letter symbols, drawing lines, copying letters, and mentioning letter shapes.
