Abstract

This study aims to determine how the effectiveness of cooperative learning model type TGT to the critical thinking ability of learners in understanding the economic concept in SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Raja. The formulation of the problem is "how the effectiveness of cooperative learning model type TGT to the ability of critical thinking learners in understanding the economic concept in SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Raja viewed from the learning process, learning outcomes, and patterns of conformity TGT model of learning materials. The research instrument used is test, observation, and questionnaire. This research uses Triangulation data analysis technique. From the results of data analysis conducted the use of cooperative learning model type TGT to the critical thinking ability of learners in understanding the economic concept in SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Raja seen from the learning process that is the activity of teachers and learners in learning activities expressed very effective with the average 83,89%, learners' learning outcomes declared effective with the average of 74,69%, the suitability of cooperative learning model of Team Games Tournament type to the material is said to be very effective with the average of 85.42%. This shows that cooperative learning model of Team Games Tournament type is very effective to increase the critical thinking ability of learners in understanding the economic concept. it is advisable for teachers to improve their skills in managing the use of better models and for learners to constantly improve their critical thinking skills by self-study so as to help shape better learning habits.
