Abstract
This research aims to determine the role of the Sriwijaya University Student Teaching Activity Unit on the Teaching Skills of Prospective PPKn Teachers. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The sample data collection technique in this research uses a purposive sampling technique with 4 main informants and 1 supporting informant. This data collection technique is carried out through observation, documentation and interviews. Based on the results of this research, it was concluded that the role of the Sriwijaya University Student Teaching Activity Unit on the Teaching Skills of Prospective PPKn Teachers includes: 1) Students create lesson plans, consisting of creating learning objectives, learning indicators, compiling teaching materials, creating learning media in the form of PPT, and creating media conventional in the form of wall media for learning. 2) Students Manage Class with Ice Breaking, consisting of opening the class with ice breaking, implementing ice breaking videos, and making ice breaking videos. 3) Students Apply Teaching Skills, consisting of opening learning well, explaining lesson material, increasing knowledge in practicing learning, applying basic teaching skills, and closing learning activities, and 4) Students Applying Briefing and Evaluation, consisting of conducting a briefing before teaching , explain the material that will be presented, carry out evaluations, and conduct creative assessments.
