Abstract

Sebuah karya sastra merupakan hasil ungkapan pengarang yang di dalamnya tergambar suasana kejiwaan pengarang baik suasana pikiran maupun rasa/emosi Hal ini berhubungan dengan kepribadian sastra. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kepribadian tokoh dalam novel Harimau! Harimau! karya Mochtar Lubis, yang mencakupi (a) kepribadian tipe sanguinis, (b) kepribadian tipe melankolis, (c) kepribadian tipe flegmatis, (d) kepribadian tipe koleris. Untuk menganalisis unsur-unsur yang terdapat dalam novel Harimau! Harimau! digunakan pendekatan psikologis dan pendekatan struktural. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Untuk pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik analisis karya dan pengolahan data dilakukan dengan meneliti unsur psikologi, yaitu mengidentifikasi dan mengklasifikasi aspek kepribadian tokoh melalui teknik langsung (analitik) dan tidak langsung (dramatik). Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa novel Harimau! Harimau! karya Mochtar Lubis menunjukkan kepribadian tokoh yang kompleks. Kata Kunci: Psikologi Sastra, Kepribadian Tokoh, dan Harimau! Harimau!.
