Abstract

One type of disease that often encountered and into trouble in cultivation activities is a disease caused by bacteria of Aeromonas hydrophila know as of Motile Aeromonas Septicemia. The problem can be overcome by utilizing the herbs solution Chromolane odorata. Anyway ability herb of extract in bacteria suppressant, can be decrease over time storage. This study aims to determine the old effectiveness of storage time of the Chromolaena odorata extract to treat disease infections of Aeromonas hydrophila. This research used completely randomized design consist of 5 treatments with 3 each of the replications. The treatments given is the medication Clarias gariepinus infected Aeromonas hydrophila by trough soaking extract Chromolaena odorata with long storage time P1 (7 days), P2 (14 days), P3 (21 days), P4 (28 days) and P5 (35 days) with storage temperature 5±2°C. The fish used Clarias gariepinus sized 10-12 cm. The research parameters are measured, the survival, hematopathologic test (total test erythrocytes, leukocytes, hematocrit and hemoglobines), percentage of recovered fish and water quality. The results of this research showed that the treatment extract of Chromolaena odorata with a 35 days optimal was storage to treat catfish infected with Aeromonas hydrophila but storage for up to 14 days is the best result for treatment of disease caused by Motile Aeromonas Septicemian and produce the highest average survival rate of 100%, a recovery percentage of 100%, absolute weight growth 16.34 g, length absolute 5.71 cm and total erytrocytes, total leukocytes, hematocrit levels, hemoglobin levels and water quality were still within the normal range.
