Abstract

Broiler chicken is one type of broiler poultry with high productivity and good ration efficiency. The environment and quality feed can affect the growth process of broilers. In the broiler rearing business, it is necessary to pay attention to feed management and the environment in accordance with the provisions. Farmers usually provide additional feed to improve animal health and production. One of the additional feed is prebiotics, making organic acid fermentation of pineapple peel and Indigofera leaves produces prebiotics. Prebiotics can improve the microflora in the digestive tract that can help livestock productivity so that the ration is digested optimally. Pineapple peel fermentation produces biomass that can be used as probiotics. The combination of prebiotics and probiotics called synbiotics is beneficial in increasing the implantation and quality of beneficial probiotic microorganisms. This study aims to determine the performance of broiler chickens given basal rations with the addition of synbiotics from fermented pineapple peel and Indigofera zollingeriana leaves. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replicates, each replicate consisting of 5 broilers. The treatment given was the ration with the addition of synbiotic fermented pineapple peel and Indigofera zollingeriana leaves. The treatments in this study were P0 (ration control), P1 (ration with 0.5% synbiotic in feed), P2 (1% synbiotic in feed), P3 (1.5% synbiotic in feed), P4 (2% synbiotic in feed). The results of the analysis of variance showed that the addition of synbiotics fermented pineapple peel and Indigofera zollingerian leaves in broiler rations had no significant effect (P>0.05) on ration consumption, body weight gain, and ration conversion. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that feeding with the addition of synbiotic fermented pineapple peel and Indigofera zollingerian leaves has not been able to improve broiler performance. The results obtained ration consumption 63.27-72.06 grams/head/day, body weight gain 61.85-64.85 grams/head/day, and ration conversion 1.21-1.29.
