Abstract
The impact of the pandemic of Covid-19 on the education sector has forced universities to conduct online learning. Online learning is a learning activity that requires an internet network with connectivity, accessibility, flexibility, and the ability to bring up various types of learning interactions. Continuous online learning will certainly have a psychological impact on the students. The objective of this study is to disclose the relationship between online learning and the incidence of stress among students of Nursing Science Study Program of Faculty of Medicine of Sriwijaya University. This study used a quantitative research method with a cross sectional approach. The sample of this study was obtained using the random sampling-cluster sampling method with the number of samples of 172 people. This study was conducted online by filling out a questionnaire using a google form. The data were analyzed by using univariate and bivariate with chi square test with 95% of confidence degree or α = 5%. The results of questionnaires’s responses of 172 respondents are specified as follows: 88 (51.2%) considered that online learning was not effective and 84 (48.8%) students considered that online learning was effective. Of the students who considered online learning to be ineffective, 5 (5.7%) respondents had normal stress levels, 32 (35.2%) had mild stress, 41 (46.6%) had moderate stress, 10 (11.4%) had severe stress and 1 (1.1) %) respondent had a very heavy stress level. The results of statistical tests was a p-value = 0.004, which means that there was a significant relationship between online learning and the incidence of stress among students of Nursing Science Study Program of Faculty of Medicine of Sriwijaya University. The stress experienced by the students during the implementation of online learning must be managed properly so that it leads to positive influences.
